KiwiCo Build & Play Chess Set

I love how the illustrated guide makes learning chess feel approachable while building the board myself. The wood pieces have a nice weight to them, and the hidden drawers are satisfying to open.

The geared drawers are such a clever touch, my daughter loves how they swing out smoothly. Building the board together was a fun challenge, and the wood pieces feel nice and sturdy.

My son spent a whole rainy afternoon building the geared drawers, and they actually slide out smoothly to hold the wooden pieces. The illustrated guide made it easy enough for him to follow alone. It’s a clever way to turn a chess set into a hands-on project.
