Coding Critters® MagiCoders: Blazer the Dragon

My son has been obsessed with sending Blazer on "spell missions" every morning. The wand-based coding is intuitive enough that he figured it out without any help, and the dragon's reactions keep him giggling. Perfect intro to STEM that doesn't feel like a lesson at all.

The magic wand controls are great for teaching cause and effect, though pairing the spell sequences takes a few tries to master. My son’s really engaged programming the dragon to move toward his toy castle.

My 4-year-old needed a little help figuring out how to line up the coding cards on the first go, but once she got the hang of it, she loved making Blazer "breathe fire" and roll across the floor. It's a clever intro to sequencing without feeling like a lesson.
